Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village offers fulfilling volunteer experiences for all ages and interests. We frequently work with seniors, corporate groups, scouts, and students.
Volunteer opportunities are available in the areas listed below. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please fill out our Volunteer Application and forward it to volunteers@bnhv.org. Our Volunteer Department will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss your interests.
Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all our guests, staff, and volunteers. BNHV therefore reserves the right to perform background criminal checks on all volunteers whose roles will place them in close contact with vulnerable members of the community. The results of these checks will be kept confidential. BNHV reserves the right to decline to work with volunteer candidates according to internal policies, and will not discriminate based on age, race, religion, disability, national origin, genetic information, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or pregnancy. BNHV reserves the right to terminate the volunteer relationship according to internal policies. All volunteers will receive a copy of the Volunteer Handbook and orientation upon arriving at BNHV, and by accepting these they agree to abide by the rules of conduct found therein.

Research Library Inventory Project
BNHV is seeking volunteers to assist with a library inventory project. Volunteers will inventory, evaluate, sort, and reshelve books throughout the project. Research Project (Various Topics)
BNHV is seeking volunteers to assist with research projects in the Research Library. Volunteers will utilize resources such as census records, microfilm records, topic files, and more throughout the project. Training is provided. Please contact volunteers@bnhv.org to sign up. Collections Digitization Project
