Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all our guests, staff, and volunteers. BNHV therefore reserves the right to perform background criminal checks on all volunteers whose roles will place them in close contact with vulnerable members of the community. The results of these checks will be kept confidential. BNHV reserves the right to decline to work with volunteer candidates according to internal policies, and will not discriminate based on age, race, religion, disability, national origin, genetic information, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or pregnancy.   BNHV reserves the right to terminate the volunteer relationship according to internal policies. All volunteers will receive a copy of the Volunteer Handbook and orientation upon arriving at BNHV, and by accepting these they agree to abide by the rules of conduct found therein.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Maple Festival Volunteers

Are you a history enthusiast and passionate about community events? Then come join us at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village for our Annual Maple Fest on March 29th, where you'll have the opportunity to celebrate the sweet taste of maple and the hardworking farmers who cultivate it. New York State has a long history of maple farming, and by volunteering with BNHV you will help us to keep that tradition alive by highlighting the skills and ingenuity that have long characterized the relationship between this land and its inhabitants.

This relationship is at the core of what Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village is all about. We are committed to illuminating the agricultural history of Western New York. In a time of climate crisis, we believe that now more than ever it is essential to understand how we relate to the earth, past, present, and future.

Click here to volunteer, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email Volunteers@BNHV.org, or call 716-689-1440, we would be happy to help with any questions you may have!
