Community Event Volunteer Guidelines

Volunteer Duties

BNHV will attempt to give each volunteer their first choice of volunteer duty. However, your assigned duties may change at any time, up to and including during the event itself.

Volunteer Groups

BNHV welcomes groups of all types to volunteer during our Community Events. Please specify which group you are a part of during the registration process.

Volunteer Age

BNHV takes volunteers aged 14+. Any volunteers aged 14 - 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times for the duration of the event or project. 

High School Community Service Hours

BNHV welcomes high school students to complete their community service hours with us. If you are volunteering at a community event, please bring your service forms with you. They can be signed at the end of the event. When you sign in, there will be a form to indicate if you need a verification letter. Be sure to include your email address, and letters will be sent out during the week following the event.

Inclement Weather

Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village Community Events are presented rain or shine. Please come dressed accordingly.

If a Community Event is cancelled due to thunderstorm, snowstorm, or global health crisis, volunteers will be notified via email.
