Archives

The Archives contain approximately 18,000 items including ephemera, sheet music, pamphlets, magazines, newspapers, maps, ledgers, scrapbooks and 11,000 photographs relevant to our region’s history.

 

Agricultural and Industrial Trade & Heritage Craft Tools

Our tool collection is representative of agricultural, industrial, and heritage crafting in rural Buffalo Niagara, such as blacksmithing, tinsmithing, woodworking, leatherworking, weaving, brewing, printing, medicine practice, and more.

 

Historic Structures 

This collection is comprised of ten historic Town of Amherst structures relocated to our 35 acre campus, as well as reproduction structures and outbuildings constructed using historic techniques and building materials.

 

Material Culture 

This collection is comprised of textiles, fine and folk art, furnishings, and more representative of items used in home, personal, and community life in 19th and 20th century Buffalo Niagara.
