Scout Sundays!
2022 Girl Scout Programming
Theme specific Girl Scout Programs are held at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, on designated Sundays. Programs will run 12:00 pm -2:00 pm. Registration fees vary depending on program.
Advanced registration is required. Please contact Sara Miller, Director of Education and Programs, at smiller@bnhv.org to register your troop before buying tickets. If your troop is interested in one of these programs on another day, please email smiller@bnhv.org, and we will work with you to find an alternate date.
January 9th: Sheep to Shawl
This program is cancelled due to COVID-19.
How did early settlers make their own clothes? Take a step back in time and learn about the sheep to shawl process. Girls will be able to learn how to spin wool on a drop spindle, learn how wool was dyed, and weave their own project on a mini-loom.
This program is for all ages.
Senior Girl Scouts will work towards their Textile Artist Badge.
Registration fee is $15 per Girl Scout.
February 6th: Victorian Tea
Come dressed in your best and explore what it meant to be a young girl living in 19th century America. You’ll learn about Victorian manners and etiquette while enjoying tea and treats at an afternoon tea. Tea and light refreshments will be provided.
This program is for all ages.
Junior Girl Scouts will work towards their Social Butterfly badge.
Registration fee is $15 per Girl Scout.
March 27th: All About Maple
Come learn all about maple sugaring both historically and today. Girls will learn how to tap a maple tree and experience firsthand how sap is turned into maple syrup. This program will have outdoor portions. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
This program is for all ages.
Registration fee is $10 per Girl Scout.
April 3rd: Victorian Girls
Step back into the past and experience life as a Victorian girl. Begin with a tour of some of our historic buildings where we will discuss 19th century life in WNY. Girls will then try their hand at some 19th century chores and play some popular 19th century games. We will conclude the program by making and enjoying a tasty 19th century treat.
This program is for all ages.
Junior Girl Scouts will work towards their Playing the Past Badge.
Registration fee is $10 per Girl Scout.
October 9th: Victorian Girls

November 6th: Woodworker
People have been working with wood for centuries. Come learn how early settlers relied on wood, and visit our Woodwrights Shop to take a look at the different kinds of hand tools. Girls will then use a variety of hand tools to make their own project to take home.

Cadette Girl Scouts will work towards their Woodworker Badge.
Registration fee is $15 per Girl Scout.
December 4th: Victorian Yuletide
Come join the holiday spirit and learn about different 19th century holiday traditions. Girls will be able to try out some Yuletide games, make some yuletide crafts, and perhaps try a yuletide treat as well.
This program is for all ages.
Registration fee is $12 per Girl Scout.
