A Day in the Life of a Pioneer: Preparing for Your Journey
Ages 5 and Up

Your family is selling your house in Vermont due to the soil being worn out, and you are moving to the new “country” of Western New York. Pioneers, like you, traveling by covered wagon had to be very careful of their wagon’s weight. Wagons could only carry up to 2,000 pounds. It is now up to you to decide what to pack for you and your family’s  journey. Then, using the supplies provided you are tasked with building your own covered wagon which will hold the weight of a water bottle.
