Santa Claus is coming to Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village this December! On Sunday, December 4th, families are welcomed to join Santa, Mrs. Claus and their merry elves for a pancake breakfast in our Ballroom. This event features two seatings: the first at 9:30AM and the second at 11:00AM. Each seating lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. Join us for our 2017 Timber Framing Workshop, taught by Historic Buildings and Grounds Manager, and Woodwrights Guild member, Scott Schotz. Students will learn timber framing and "post-and-beam" construction methods for building with heavy timbers rather than dimensional lumber such as 2"x4"s. Traditional timber framing is the method of creating structures using heavy squared-off and carefully fitted and joined timbers with joints secured by large wooden pegs (larger versions of the mortise and tenon joints in furniture).
