Quilt Guild members will be present to demonstrate hand applique and binding, as well as discuss the fascinating process of completing a quilt. On Wednesday, July 5, from 10:00 - 11:00 am Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village (BNHV) will host a tour of the gardens housed upon its 35 acre grounds. The tour has been organized by the Master Gardeners of Erie and Niagara Counties, who curate and maintain the gardens on BNHV's grounds. Unplug, reconnect, and experience pioneer life. This is a fully immersive, historical experience for children. Children, ages 6 - 13, will tend to crops on our farmstead, learn how to care for our livestock, cook historic foods, spin and weave wool, engage in historic crafts, and play historic games. The Niagara Frontier Wireless Association will be hosting its annual Antique Radio Swap Meet at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village on August 5, 2017, from 8 am to noon. Radios, dating from the 1920s through the 1960s, will be offered for sale as well as a wide selection of vintage electronics, tube amps, phonographs, speakers, advertising and assorted parts. Join us for a two-part workshop on blacksmithing being held Saturday, August 5th and Saturday, August 12th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This two-part educational workshop will touch on the basics of blacksmithing and will introduce students to blacksmithing tools, the use of the forge, and the use of fire, coal, and temperature.
