Pumpkin Carving Contest
Show off your artistic skills in our new pumpkin carving contest!
There is no fee to enter.
The carved pumpkins will be displayed at our Halloween Trick-or-Treat event where spectators will vote on their favorite one!
Two prizes for the People’s Choice Awards will be given out in each age category: $50 for 1st place and $25 for 2nd place!
The age categories are 5-12, 13-17 and 18 & older.
Contest Rules and Registration
REGISTER HERE for the pumpkin carving contest.
Pumpkins will be provided by Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village or you may supply your own. You must stop by to pick up your pumpkin during normal business hours between Friday, October 11th and Sunday, October 13th.
To be eligible for competition, you must drop off your pumpkin at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village during normal business hours on Wednesday, October 16th or Thursday, October 17th.
One entry per person, group or organization.
Pumpkins may be carved, painted and/or decorated.
Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village reserves the right to refuse any entry deemed inappropriate.
Do not write your name anywhere on the pumpkin. Your entry will be assigned a number.
LED candles will be provided by BNHV. You may supply your own LED candles if you wish — please no flames.
All pumpkins will be displayed in the bandstand during the Heritage Village’s Trick-or-Treat event Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th.
People’s Choice Awards for the two pumpkins with the most votes in each age category will be given out, $50 for 1st place and $25 for 2nd place.
Winners will be announced on our Facebook page and will be contacted via telephone on Monday, October 21st.
If you want your pumpkin returned, you must pick it up on Monday, October 21st between 9:00AM-3:00PM. After that time, all pumpkins become the property of Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village.
18 & older
Pumpkins will be judged by ticket holders during the Heritage Village’s Trick or Treat event on Friday and Saturday October 18th & 19th.
Pumpkins will be assigned a number that corresponds with the entry form so the identity of the artist will not be known.
The ballots will be color-coded by age category. Every Trick or Treat event ticket holder will receive one ticket per age category to vote with.
