Course Description

The need for trained beekeepers is essential, now more than ever, for the environmental sustainability of bees to pollinate essential food crops and the production of high quality honey. Join BNHV’s Buffalo Niagara Beekeepers Guild in an introduction to beekeeping and learn how you can help the earth’s most important insect to humans.

Participation in this class includes a 6 week course in Beekeeping 101 followed by 12 weeks of hands-on learning in our apiary.

Beekeeping 101

March 14th, 21st, 28th & April 4th, 11th, 18th 6:00-8:00pm

Apiary Time

Every other Saturday May 4th – October 5th (schedule to be handed out at March 14th class) 10:00am- 12:00pm

Course Fee

$283.00  ($170.00 Tuition Fee + $113.00 Equipment Cost)

Tuition Fee includes: Beekeeping 101 class registration fee, BNHV and Beekeepers Guild membership, PennState Ext. Beekeeping Basics Book, 1 binder, and 1 zip drive.

Equipment cost includes: protective bee suit and protective bee gloves, which are yours to keep.

Space is limited to 6 participants.
