BNHV remembers the 2,977 individuals who lost their lives on 9/11, in particular the victims who had local connections to our communities here in Western New York. We honor their lives, their memory and extend our sympathies to their families and loved ones. We also recognize the roles of the brave first responders who answered the call of duty and traveled to New York City to help with the recovery and aftermath.
Today, we unveiled our latest exhibit to be installed at the museum, entitled 9/11 Remembered. Special thanks is given to those who sponsored this commemorative memorial piece and who donated their money, time and efforts towards its display at BNHV: Amherst Past Fire Chiefs, Amherst Police Club, Inc., Clarence Center Volunteer Fire Company, Hutchinson Hose Company, Inc., Karen Eckert, Susan Grelick, and Vigilant Fire Company #1 of Ebenezer, Inc. We held a special unveiling ceremony at noon and the museum is open free of charge to visitors today until 8:00pm.
